Cooking Class OPtions in St. Louis
Whether you’re looking for a fun date night activity, a family outing, or just want to learn a new skill, a cooking class is a great option. There are several places in and around St. Louis for the budding chef in all of us.
Cake or Cookie Decorating Classes
Another fun option, similar to cooking classes, is cake or cookie decorating classes. Here are some places in and around St. Louis where you can learn how to properly frost and decorate your desserts:
The Kitchen Conservatory - St. Louis
Toot’s Cake and Candy Supplies - Belleville, IL
Sugar Bot Sweet Shop - St. Charles, MO
Open to Cooks of all levels
One of the things I loved about the classes I took at the Kitchen Conservatory is that they were very beginner friendly and the teachers welcomed any and all questions.
Even the staff in the kitchen supply shop were very helpful in answering questions and suggesting products.
The Kitchen Conservatory
The Kitchen Conservatory in St. Louis is a cooking school that also has a kitchen shoppe and cookie/cake decorating classes too.
They offer over 1500 different cooking classes every year hosted by experienced chefs and instructors.
Cooking Class for Kids
The Kitchen Conservatory also offers parent and child cooking classes called “Heir and a Parent”.
My son is a big Harry Potter fan so we took their Harry Potter themed cooking class where we made some favorite Harry Potter dishes and treats.
Hands On Cooking Class
You can choose at the Kitchen Conservatory between hands on cooking classes or demonstration classes.
I’ve only done the hands on cooking classes where you work as a team to prepare multiple dishes, usually centered around a particular theme.
Demonstration classes are where you watch a chef teach you how to prepare dishes, similar to a live cooking show.
Book Your Cooking Class in St. Louis
I recommend looking for classes well in advance because they can fill up quickly.
How much does a cooking class usually cost?
Most of the cooking classes cost between $50 and $90 per person per class. Obviously this includes dinner or whichever meal you’re preparing plus often a glass of wine or other beverage.
I think it’s definitely worth it for a great meal, an evening of entertainment, and building on a skill that will last a lifetime.
